io.github.ark-forge/mcp-eu-ai-act MCP server FAQ

What is the EU AI Act Compliance Scanner MCP server?

It's a compliance automation tool that scans your codebase for AI framework usage, assesses compliance against the EU AI Act and GDPR, and generates remediation plans and audit-ready documentation. It detects 16 AI frameworks and maps findings to specific legal articles.

Is it free to use?

Yes. The free tier includes 5 scans per day, AI framework detection, and risk category suggestions with no API key required. Pro (€29/month) unlocks unlimited scans, full compliance reports, roadmaps, and Annex IV packages. Certified (€99/month) adds cryptographic Trust Layer certification.

How do I install it in Claude or Cursor?

For Claude Desktop, add to `claude_desktop_config.json`: {"mcpServers": {"eu-ai-act": {"command": "eu-ai-act-mcp"}}}. For Cursor, add to `.cursor/mcp.json` with the same config. Or install via PyPI: `pip install eu-ai-act-scanner` then run `eu-ai-act-mcp`.

Do I need authentication or an API key?

No API key is required for the free tier. Pro and Certified tiers require an API key obtained from arkforge.tech/pricing. The server can also run in HTTP mode for CI/CD integration.

What AI frameworks does it detect?

It detects 16 frameworks: OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, Vertex AI, Mistral, Cohere, HuggingFace, TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain, AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Ollama, LlamaIndex, Replicate, and Groq.

What is the August 2, 2027 deadline?

The EU AI Act enforcement deadline is August 2, 2027. High-risk AI systems face fines up to €35 million or 7% of global turnover for non-compliance. The server generates compliance roadmaps with this deadline in mind.

LimitedChatbots, content generationTransparency, user disclosure, content marking
MinimalSpam filters, video gamesNone

Limitations

  • Static analysis only — detects imports and patterns, not runtime behavior
  • Cannot determine risk category automatically from code alone (use suggest_risk_category with a description)
  • check_compliance scores content quality — documents with boilerplate/placeholder text will score low
  • File scanning limited to 5,000 files and 1 MB per file
  • Certain system paths are blocked from scanning for security
