How to use vercel-deploy

1.Run the deploy script with your project path: bash /mnt/skills/user/vercel-deploy/scripts/deploy.sh [path]
2.Wait for framework detection and packaging to complete
3.Receive the Preview URL (live site) and Claim URL (to transfer ownership)
4.Share the Preview URL with others or visit it immediately to see your deployment
5.Use the Claim URL to transfer the deployment to your Vercel account when ready

Do I need a Vercel account to deploy?

No. The skill deploys without authentication and returns a claimable link you can use to transfer the deployment to your account later.

What frameworks are supported?

The skill auto-detects frameworks from package.json, including Next.js, React, Vue, Nuxt, Svelte, SvelteKit, Express, Fastify, NestJS, Astro, and many others. Static HTML projects without package.json are also supported.

Can I deploy a specific directory or tarball?

Yes. Pass the directory path or .tgz file as an argument: bash /mnt/skills/user/vercel-deploy/scripts/deploy.sh /path/to/project

What if deployment fails with a network error?

If you see a network egress error, go to https://claude.ai/settings/capabilities and add *.vercel.com to allowed domains, then try again.

How do I use the deployment after it's live?

The Preview URL is immediately live and shareable. Use the Claim URL to transfer ownership to your Vercel account for long-term management.

How It Works

Packages your project into a tarball (excludes node_modules and .git)
Auto-detects framework from package.json
Uploads to deployment service
Returns Preview URL (live site) and Claim URL (transfer to your Vercel account)

Usage

bash /mnt/skills/user/vercel-deploy/scripts/deploy.sh [path]

Arguments:

path - Directory to deploy, or a .tgz file (defaults to current directory)

Examples:

Framework Detection

The script auto-detects frameworks from package.json. Supported frameworks include:

React: Next.js, Gatsby, Create React App, Remix, React Router
Vue: Nuxt, Vitepress, Vuepress, Gridsome
Svelte: SvelteKit, Svelte, Sapper
Other Frontend: Astro, Solid Start, Angular, Ember, Preact, Docusaurus
Backend: Express, Hono, Fastify, NestJS, Elysia, h3, Nitro
Build Tools: Vite, Parcel
And more: Blitz, Hydrogen, RedwoodJS, Storybook, Sanity, etc.

For static HTML projects (no package.json), framework is set to null.

Static HTML Projects

For projects without a package.json:

If there's a single .html file not named index.html, it gets renamed automatically
This ensures the page is served at the root URL (/)

Present Results to User

Always show both URLs:

Troubleshooting

Network Egress Error

If deployment fails due to network restrictions (common on claude.ai), tell the user:

1. Go to https://claude.ai/settings/capabilities
2. Add *.vercel.com to the allowed domains
3. Try deploying again
