ua-campaign FAQ
Start with Apple Search Ads if under $1K/month (highest intent, lowest complexity). At $1K-5K, add one social channel like Meta. At $5K+, diversify across ASA, Meta, Google UAC, and test new channels. Budget determines channel strategy.
Target CPI should be less than LTV/3 for profitability. If your LTV is $30, target CPI of $10 or lower. Start with your current LTV, then work backwards from your monthly install goal and budget to set realistic CPI targets.
Always start with Apple Search Ads—it has the highest intent (users actively searching), best conversion rates (30-50%), and works for any budget. It's also the lowest complexity to manage. Add other channels as budget increases.
Refresh creative every 2-3 weeks to avoid ad fatigue. Monitor performance weekly and pause underperforming ads. Test new creative variations continuously, especially for Meta where creative quality drives performance more than targeting.
CPI (cost per install) is spend divided by app installs—the cost to acquire a user. CPA (cost per action) is spend divided by in-app purchases or other conversions. CPA is typically higher than CPI and is the true profitability metric. Target CPA should be less than LTV.
