The skill will report that no matching skills were found. You may need to use native Azure SDKs or APIs directly, or check back later as the Azure skills catalog grows.
Yes. If multiple skills are recommended, you can install their plugins sequentially or together depending on your agent client's capabilities.
The catalog is maintained in the microsoft/azure-skills GitHub repository. Check that repository for the latest available skills and updates.
This skill only discovers and recommends skills—it doesn't require Azure credentials. However, the skills you install may require Azure authentication depending on what they do.
Installation instructions are provided for Copilot CLI, Claude Code, and other compatible agent platforms.

Follow these steps to discover the available azure skill matching the given task description.

For each relevant skill, discover their plugin name by reading the plugin.json from the GitHub Contents API: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/microsoft/azure-skills/main/.github/plugins/{plugin-dirname}/.plugin/plugin.json
This is important because a plugin's name may be different from its directory name. The installation commands depend on the plugin's name.
- Report the matched skills
Report the matched skills and offer instructions to install them. Skills can be installed by installing their plugin. Read the installation instructions matching the agent client to offer the installation instructions.
